LJ Projects has been facilitating Extensive Youth Dance Projects in South East Queensland, Australia for the last 4 years to sold out performances!

 

These works seek to bring together emerging artists from several schools and studios from across the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane to dance in one fully realised work.  The performance space itself is always away from a traditional theatre setting, with performances being undertaken ‘in the round’, in the shape of a huge cross’ and in the outdoors.   The high quality production aspects that comes each year in lighting design etc., further enhance the professional standard of works of this magnitude. 

The young artists have the opportunity to work with professional dancers and dance artists that Melissa brings in to perform, create and rehearse various aspects of the creation.

This year, ‘Corpus Linea’ based on the science of body language will be performed in the open air, where the performance space will be covered in tables and chairs and used as an extended part of the young artists choreography.  Conceived and choreographed by Melissa Lanham and Chloe Lanham and Supported by Sunshine Coast Council, Produced by Mia Hollingworth, with Production Management by Travis Macfarlane.
