Jo Cork Dance Film Workshop- Friday and Saturday Morning
A seasoned dance artist in the UK who specialises in dance and technology. She will deliver an exciting workshop on how to create and shoot dance. Over the course of both mornings Jo will break down how to film, create and edit a dance film. Using your own chosen camera, be it a phone or camcorder this workshop will allow you to create your own dance film.
Melissa Lanham Choreography- Friday and Saturday Lunch
Director of LJ Projects will facilitate a workshop in devising movement through tasks and improvisation. She will explore the simple ways into choreography and how in which you can play with this movement to finish the session with lists of taskwork to take on into your practice.
Courtney Scheu- Site Specific- Friday Afternoon
Courtney will work with participants to explore choreographic tools for responding to the environment and site. Drawing from details of the surrounding landscape, we will use improvisation scores and layered task work to develop movement material and research how shifts of perspective can stimulate choreographic innovation. Bring comfy shoes as we will be venturing out to explore the urban scapes of Nambour
Sammie Williams- Movement Language- Saturday Afternoon
A diverse artist based in Brisbane who crosses both contemporary and hip hop styles, she will offer a workshop playing with and breaking down movement. Upon finishing this session you will have a deeper understanding of how the body can be manipulated in order to find new paths for movement.
This will be an awesome weekend of exciting artists sharing their practice. We spent a lot of time listening to what teachers need right now for their work and their students. This we believe is what has been identified as some important needs.
